The whole thrust of the campaign is about everyone doing something to improve the environment we live in. Already hundreds of people have taken the initiative in a host of different ways. These are some of the ways in which you might help.

Individuals
• We need more volunteers to help organise and run the campaign.

• ‘Adopt’ a street or particular area and keep it clear on a regular basis.

• Organise a one-off litter pick in a local grot spot.

• Free clean up kits, posters and car-stickers are available from the home page of our website or by phoning 01942 612621.

Community groups
• We are encouraging neighbourhood & resident groups to tackle specific local issues.

• Get together to blitz a local problem area. We will be happy to advise, help and support.

• If you are organising a clean up, please tell us about it.

Businesses & traders
• Keep your own frontages/grounds clean and litter-free.

• Make sure trade waste is securely stored. We are happy to advise on this.

• If you have a no-smoking policy in your premises, PLEASE provide proper facilities out of doors for staff who smoke to dispose of cigarette-related litter.

• Provide bins outside your premises if litter is a problem. The council is happy to advise on this – contact Rob Bell (details at back of this leaflet).
